Visit Abijatta-Shalla National Park, containing two very different lakes. Drive to Lake Awassa, arguably the most beautiful of the Rift Valley lakes with its clear waters and mountain backdrop. Take a morning boat trip on the lake for birdwatching - Awassa has exceptional bird diversity including fish eagles, kingfishers, and numerous waterfowl. Visit the fish market where local fishermen bring in their catch and fish eagles wait for scraps. Walk along the lakeshore promenade, interacting with locals. Visit the Awassa University biodiversity museum. Enjoy fresh fish dinner at a lakeside restaurant.

Begin return journey to Addis Ababa, stopping at interesting viewpoints and sites along the way. Lunch at a traditional restaurant en route.
